The fundamental cartography for biblical scholars. Based on the Tübingen Atlas of the Near and Middle East (TAVO). The maps collected in this atlas were previously only available as single sheets. Here they appear for the first time in a bound atlas and at an extraordinarily attractive price which now makes this valuable study material available to a wider interest group. On a total of 29 large format map sheets (each 72 x 49.3 cm when unfolded) the historical geography of the biblical countries is documented with unique precision and in extensive detail.
The map pages are essentially comprised of a targeted selection of original maps relevant to biblical science from the epochal historical geography volume "Tübinger Atlas des Vorderen Orients" (TAVO). Particular maps have been revised and supplemented for the Bible Atlas.
A map for the archaeology and history of Sinai has been newly created and is published here for the first time.
An index which has been specially compiled for the atlas lists the rich stock of historical places and place names. The index is separately bound and can be removed from the atlas so that it can conveniently be used together with the unfolded maps.
The atlas is bilingual throughout (German and English).
The Tübingen Bible Atlas documents the historical geography of the biblical countries in a unique way in 29 top-grade maps and extensive indexes. The Atlas is primarily designed for scholarly use; but it simultaneously offers this valuable study material - not only because of the attractive price - to a wider interest group.
