The Editio Critica Maior documents the textual history of the Greek New Testament within the first millennium on the basis of the most important Greek manuscripts, ancient translations, and New Testament quotations in ancient Christian literature.
After the volumes on the Acts of the Apostles and the Catholic Epistles have been available for several years, the first volume on a synoptic Gospel, the Gospel of Mark, now follows. For this purpose, the original biblical text has been reconstructed with the help of a newly developed methodology, which has led to several changes.
The volume is published in three parts. The first part offers the text including the apparatus. The second part offers supplementary materials and overviews. The third volume provides a commentary on selected variants and a series of additional essays on individual aspects. This complete volume includes all three parts.
